Everything on the shelf, by category, in a PDF you can print and tape to the inside of a cabinet door. Each item links back to its write-up here, so you can read why it is on the list before you buy anything.
What is in the list
- Every item currently on the shelf, grouped into these sections: water, food, light, power, first aid, shelter and warmth, tools, cooking, sanitation, communication, documents and cash.
- One line per item on why I keep it.
- A link from each item to its full write-up on this site. The PDF never links straight to a store.
- Blank lines at the end of each section for your own additions.
The list grows as the shelf does. When something new goes on, subscribers get a short note and the updated PDF.

What happens when you sign up
Your email goes to MailerLite, the service I use to send the list. You get one message with the PDF. After that, you only hear from me when something new goes on the shelf or a write-up changes in a way that matters. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you right away.
