Privacy policy
This site is small and so is this policy. Here is what is collected, why, and how to make it stop.
Email list
When you sign up for the free gear list, the email address you enter is sent to and stored by MailerLite, the email service I use. MailerLite is a separate company with its own privacy policy.
- What is collected: your email address, the date and time you signed up, and the page you signed up from. MailerLite may also record which emails you open and which links you click, and the approximate location derived from your IP address at the time.
- Why: to send you the gear list PDF and occasional updates when something changes on the shelf.
- What it is not used for: I do not sell, rent, or share the list with anyone. I do not send email on behalf of other companies.
- How to leave: every email has an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from the list right away. You can also email TODO-contact@heartlandprepper.com and I will delete your address from MailerLite.
Visiting the site
The site is static and is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare's network sees the usual connection information for any web request, such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep short-term logs to run and protect the service. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
This site does not set its own cookies. If the signup form is on a page, MailerLite's embed script may set cookies that belong to MailerLite.
There is no analytics or advertising tracking on the site at this time. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it goes live.
Affiliate links
Product links on gear write-ups go to outside stores and may be affiliate links. Once you click through, that store's privacy policy applies. See the affiliate disclosure.
Your rights
You can ask what data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email TODO-contact@heartlandprepper.com. The only personal data I hold is what is in the MailerLite list, so deletion means removing you from that list.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top will change with it.
